Three People I Would Invite to Dinner
Hailey Bieber, 21 Savage, and my mom are three people I would love to invite to dinner. First, I would like to invite Hailey Bieber, Hailey is a model and businesswoman. I want to invite her because she created my favorite makeup line, Rhode, and she is such a baddie in the way that she is just unapologetically herself. Secondly, 21 Savage, he is a rapper, and I want him at the dinner because he is my favorite music artist. Lastly, my mom, I want her there because she is my favorite person in the whole wide world and she is one of my best friends.
Rad Reading-March
For March I choose to read One Was Lost by Natalie D. Richards. One Was Lost is a mystery/romance/thriller novel about a group of high schoolers who are on a senior hiking/camping trip provided by the school. Except that it’s not a normal trip, someone is out to get them after they get split into two groups by a flood. After setting up camp, they wake up super late in the afternoon with words on their arms. Deceptive (Jude’s arm), Damaged (Emily’s arm), Dangerous (Lucas’ arm), and Darling (Sera’s arm). Throughout the book the sinister actions get worse and worse. And everyone gets more and more hurt. More towards the end they run into the others, and the original four decide that Sera and Lucas should leave and go try to find help. Eventually they find a camper and a quad, and drive off looking for a road. They run into the psycho and have to fight for their lives. The stalker is finally dead. After finding a GPS to signal help. A little background about a couple characters, Sera is the main character. Sera and Lucas have a not so secret past. Through the book their romantic relationship evolves.
I have so far thoroughly loved reading One Was Lost. When you read this book the characters come alive, and so does the setting. All of a sudden emerge into this soggy, gross, and miserable world. The thriller/mystery/romance genre certainly lives up to its name, in this novel. Although the type of book is fiction, it certainly does seem like the challenges would be real, if there really was a similar situation. The author did an immaculate job on really creating a creepy fiction world for us readers to really enjoy, and emerge into. Throughout the story, especially the four characters, Sera, Lucas, Emily and Jude. Natalie makes sure that not just the main character is evolving, but so are the supporting characters.
Sera is my favorite character. She is my favorite because she’s clever and never gives up. She truly cares about making sure everyone gets out alive. She’s caring. For example “I can’t leave them here. We’re supposed to stay together.” (Pg. 211). This quote happens when the three of them are telling Sera she and Lucas have to leave to find help. The quote demonstrates that even though it’s a better chance of everyone’s survival, she still doesn’t want to leave them alone. That proves her character as caring, even though she doesn’t know them very well.
My favorite quote from this book is, “It’s like bracing myself for a fall one second too late. I can’t save myself now. I’ve walked into my killer’s lair.” This quote is located on page 263. I love this quote, because it shows the dramatic effect it has on Sera. It’s very clever. And the way Sera thinks it is so bone chilling.
My Dream Job
My dream job is a pro volleyball player. I want to be this because of three reasons. One, I love to play volleyball and it is my favorite sport, and that way I would get to do what I love everyday. Secondly, I could go to the Olympics and win for the USA. Lastly, I would make between 60,000 and 175,000 dollars a year, that way I would be able to have a nice life.
Invisible For 24 Hours
I am invisible! I randomly drank a random potion I found in the street, and now I am invisible. First I think I am gonna rob a bank. I want to save a the money for my future. Secondly, I would make people make weird noises when eating, to see how other people react. Lastly, I would pull peoples hair that I hate, because they deserve it.
Rad Reading-February
This month I read Her Last Request by Mark Ayre. This mystery/thriller book excites readers by its unique plot and title. The story goes as follows: Alex Harper and her ex husband, Xander, are having dinner the night before their divorce. Even though they have been separated for months. A distraught woman stands outside the restaurant searching for Alex (Lexi) Harper, the problem is both her and her ex husbands legal name is Alex Harper. She doesn’t end up getting to talk to either of them, she and the waitress, Greta, who’s talking to her, gets shot and killed. They are forced to solve this mystery and get tangled in corruption, theft, and ultimately murder. The twist and turns of this novel will make your head spin. Especially with all the unexpected relationships coming uncovered. They end up solving the mystery with a shocking turning point that will leave you speechless, as you never would have imagined who did it.
I enjoyed Her Last Request immensely. The characters are wild and very diverse. This book is the type of novel where you desperately need to pay careful attention, as it constantly has new, sometimes confusing information. Her Last Request is certainly an excellent mystery read. If you like a book where it switches between different characters and different settings, this book is for you.
My favorite character would have to be Lyla. Lyla is a bright, happy, and loving three year old girl, who is the daughter of Alex (Lexi) Harper and Xander Harper. She’s my favorite because she is just a big ball of sunshine. Here’s an example, “Lyla bounced on the bench, panting like an excitable puppy.” (Pg. 329). This shows she just completely enjoys life, and all it has to offer. Throughout the book she is repeatedly spoken of as the happiness in her moms life and her dads life. A lot of the time either Lexi or Xander are thinking about their fond memories with Lyla.
Lastly, my favorite quote is, “‘It’s my turn to protect you . I always knew this day would come.”’ (Pg. 280). Andrew, Lexi’s brother, says this to her right before he saves her life, but ruins his own. This is my favorite quote because it shows us even the deep care he has for his sister. I think I mostly loved this quote because he was doing something to someone that truly deserved it, and he ensured Lexi and Xanders life. By doing that he also gave Lyla the opportunity to grow up with both of her parents.
My Abandoned Island Life
I live on an abandoned island. I came upon this dear island when I was flying around in my personal helicopter. I am super rich, and built my dream home on the island as soon as I saw it. Yes, it took a while but was worth the wait! The outside is all white with some hickory wood accents. With some palm trees spread around. The beach is just far enough so it doesn’t touch near the house, even in high tide, but just close enough where I don’t have to walk far. The house includes a full large kitchen, acquired with every thing you could ever need. There are four bedrooms along with four bathrooms, and a very luxurious living room. Although most of the time I spent reading in the cozy book nook. The dinning room is accustomed with a hickory table, very expensive, and upholstered brown chairs with black metal framing. The floors are of course hickory.
A Night in a Life of Ashley
The perplexed woman walked down the road away from her house. She was confused because her house was being fumigated and she didn’t know what that entailed. She spent hours pondering the meaning, but of course she didn’t ask the fumigators when she had the chance. While walking down the almost dead silent street in the middle of the night, she saw a half subterranean flower, slowly sinking into the ground. This reminded her of Cindy, her very best friend in the whole world, who died last spring on a jungle adventure with Ashley. Due to quick sand. After a while of crying she finally found a bench to sleep on, and finally fell into a deep slumber.
Rad Reading-January
This month I read Seven Dirty Secrets by Natalie D. Richards. Seven Dirty Secrets is a mystery/thriller book about a girl named Cleo who on her eighteenth birthday receives a creepy scavenger hunt from some mystery person. She believes it is her best friend Hope. When she discovers that it wasn’t Hope, her boyfriend, her friends, or her brother, Connor, she starts to freak out. Throughout the book she is sent all over town by the clues. That all somehow all relate to her dead boyfriend, Declan. Places they went, items that he had, and certain things that immediately jogged memories. Then at the end she discovers who set up this dangerous hunt.
I loved this book so much. This is now my second favorite book, and I’ll tell you why. First, Cleo is faced with many challenging clues that always have a backstory about her and Declan. This is very interesting because as the story goes on more and more gets revealed about their dysfunctional relationship. Secondly, there’s a not so discreet relationship between her brother and her best friend. To see them talk and interact with each other is very entertaining. Finally, there’s very vivid details and also nicely done sensory details. You can very clearly see everything she’s describing and explaining.
My favorite character in Seven Dirty Secrets is Hope. She isn’t the main character but she is in the story a lot. I like her because she can relate to me in the way she acts and her personality. Plus her aesthetic is similar to mine. Hope is a very intelligent, driven, and law abiding person.
The quote I have chosen as my favorite is, “I know seven secrets.
One caused the fall.
One did nothing.
One saw it all.
One didn’t care.
One used their head.
One played the hero.
One was left for dead.” (Pg. 268). I love this quote, because it has such a dramatic effect in the book. This is one of the clues the psycho clue giver leaves for Cleo to solve. This quote describes what role each person that was on the trip had in Declan’s death. It makes you wonder which secret is who’s. Later it is discover by Cleo herself.

A Dumbledore Quote
“We must all face the choice between what is right and what is easy.” -Albus Dumbledore. This quote is from the series Harry Potter and it speaks to me because I feel like most people choose to do what is easy, instead of what is right. I always try and do the right thing and try to convince others to do as well. I feel as though some people I know are lazy and don’t care if they’re doing something that is wrong, if it means doing less. I know from personal experience how hard doing the right thing is over the easy/wrong thing. I hope that the people I surround myself with also feel this way, and don’t just do the wrong thing just because it’s easy.
